Day 33: Super Bowl Sunday 🏈🏈🏈& Tres Leches Cake 🍰🍰🍰
Never thought I’d have a cake like this for Super Bowl Sunday. It wasn’t much of a game (that score tho, SMH) but this cake was definitely a win 🏈🏈🏈. And it was my first time trying Tres Leches, too.
Thankful for new friendships over cake 💜😊🍰
Day 32: Dinners like these🍴 … with the Partner in Crime 🔍
Thankful for a happy 1st on 1st and a very yummy dinner to boot with my partner in crime 💜. I always cherish our time together. Here’s to more dinners like these and many many more adventures with you. 😉
(PS: It’s funny how this restaurant was right under my nose a year ago while working in Manhattan Beach, but I’d never really noticed it let alone tried it. Definitely worth the wait.)

Day 31: Pink & Purple Sunsets
On an afternoon bike ride, I spotted this sunset on the way home. The colors just get me every time.

Day 30: Peace & Offerings … Throwback to Bali 👹👺🌴🌺🌊
Woke up lighting these candles to say thank you, a throwback to Bali. Visiting last September, every morning people and businesses would set up small offerings made of leaves, flowers, and small bits of food along with a small burning stick of incense to appease both good and bad spirits.
Day 29: On the Long Beach Bike Path 🚴 … Finding Your Own Way
I’m grateful to live so close to this great bike path, and the stretch of beach it covers. You can follow one of the paths around downtown and even around the marina, but I love just riding to the pier and back, which makes for some great beach views and a quick workout on my bike.
This Map My Fitness App comes in pretty handy in keeping track of my time, distance, and progress, too. 😉

Day 28: Slow & Steady … Go at Your Own Speed 🐌
While going out for a quick jog in the morning, I noticed a small group of snails just out and about. Some were crawling on the pavement, others were making their way up the sides of walls.
I thought to record one traveling across the walkway. The snail just kept moving forward, which may have seemed very slow and steady to me, but is just its own speed—just like everything and everyone else.

Day 27: Living Juicy 🌱 … Reminiscing
When I was about 13, I’d received this book as a birthday present from one of my aunts. It couldn’t have been a better present for me then, as it still is now. When I first picked up this book I read it cover to cover, and soaked up all it’s “daily morsels.” Since then, I’ve turned to the readings and activities by date, week, theme, or at random—even tried to live thru all 366 of them in one year. Though I haven’t quite succeeded yet, it’s been fun to try.
I’m amazed at how many times I’ve turned to this book and to SARK for creative and positive inspiration, which in turn has led me to find and fuel other inspirations.
In the spirit of this book, this succulent plant has been a good reminder of “living juicy”. I got it a couple weeks ago and it’s since sprouted out on the sides. 😁
Day 26: Errands and Err-thang in between
Sometimes I spend Sundays doing chores, running errands, playing catch up from things that I didn’t have time for during the week, or preparing for the week ahead. This is one of those Sundays, filled with groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and home goods.
Though there are definitely times when errands just seem to consume you and your time, I am thankful for them.
Although exhausting and tedious, you feel accomplished afterward. Also, it means living a full and balanced life, living a good kind of busy. Having errands to run means you are blessed to be able to provide food on the table, have a place to call home, and then some.
Day 25: Weekends are for brunch ☕️ … Trying something new
I just love being able to walk to nearby cafes and shops, and not always having or needing to drive.
This is one spot I’d been wanting to try after they re-opened/changed their name. It was super cozy inside, as well as outside with their tables and chairs on the street corner. Brunch and pastries were fresh and “homemade.” Will definitely be coming back here.
Nothing like a slow weekend morning over brunch and coffee shared with good company after a busy week. 😉
Anyone make it to the free museums?

Day 24: Getting it done … TGIF ✏️📏📐📓💻
This week I finally got back to working on more designs in the ART LAB, then meeting/speaking with the print shops that helped me with the “Same Love” and “Make Me Proud Tees.”
Got a lot of ideas for projects I want to do this year, and it’s important to pace yourself with your goals. Sometimes when I get stuck, I just start doodling or putting images together on the computer. More importantly, sometimes done and imperfectly is better than never starting at all. I just remember to keep at it, by not forgetting how far I’ve come along. These are the things that keeps me going.
PS: Lemme know if you’re interested in a hoodie! They’re coming soon! 😉
